If you’ve been considering installing an electric vehicle charge point at your home or business, now is the time to act.
Getting the infrastructure in place for your electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is now easier than ever, especially with help from the Electric Vehicle Car Charging Company.
Not only are we Government-approved installers of charge-points, we also work with the market-leading Government-approved manufacturers, which means we can advise you on the different options available to you.
We can also help you get EV charger grant funding towards the cost of the work, which is well worth taking advantage of while it’s available.
If you’ve been holding off, waiting to see how the market develops, the changes and advances are now coming thick and fast.
Many of those changes are designed to make the roll out of electric vehicle infrastructure as easy and attractive as possible.
‘10 million electric vehicles by 2030’
For example, last year the Energy Networks Association announced reforms from Britain’s local electricity networks which will reduce the paperwork needed to connect electric vehicles to the grid.
Previously, installers of charge points had to meet a variety of requirements and complete a range of paperwork from the different grid operators to advise about installations.
According to recent projections from the National Grid, the number of electric vehicles on the roads could rise above 10 million by 2030.
The reform is designed to supercharge the country’s roll-out of electric vehicles and to make sure this isn’t slowed down by a lack of electric vehicle charge points.
The reforms will facilitate more mass installations thanks to a new standardised process for all property and business types, including commercial properties for the first time.
Further reforms are expected to digitalise the process and make it even easier.
Installing electric vehicle charge points
As authorised Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) installers of EV charging points, the Electric Vehicle Car Charging Company has had a record start to the year in terms of the number of charge points installed and this rising trend is expected to continue.
