EV Car Charger Installation Grants for Schools Claim up to 75%
There’s no stopping the drive towards electric vehicles as the Government works towards its new goal of banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035. It has now gone even further by extending the ban to include hybrid vehicles.
As choice grows and prices drop, the number of pure electric vehicles topped 100,000 at the start of 2020, supported by an infrastructure of 30,000+ connectors and more than 17,000 devices. Currently, the drive towards green is being supported by millions of pounds in Government investment – which includes funding for electric vehicle charging points.
This grant is for state-funded schools and education institutions to install electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their site(s). Installations usually cost around £1,500 to £2,500, depending on the area and type of installation. You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install charge points up to a maximum of: £2,500 per socket 40 sockets across all sites including any applications made previously via the Workplace Charging Scheme Schools can create an income stream by charging the public to charge their EVs.
